| » Brotherhood of Shadow: Solomon's Revenge Comic Book Teaser |
|
As a fan of the Star Wars comic books (Star Wars Legacy and Knights of the Old Republic to be more precise), I’ve always wondering how great it would be if I could somehow transport the characters of Brotherhood of Shadow: Solomon’s Revenge into this medium. Since I’m not exactly the best of artists, I figured I’d experiment with other ways. This image is the result of those experimentations.

| » Film Noir Detective Comic |
|
This is a story told over a series of images that depicts a detective as he attempts to solve a case. Originally, I wanted to create the comic in the style of the cutscenes from the video game Max Payne, but as this project developed it morphed from a story portrayed in a gritty and realistic environment to one that for all intents and purposes, is classic film noir.

| » Mafioso Short Film Posters |
|
These are a collection of posters that served to advertise a short film I created whilst in Sixth Form College. Entitled Mafioso, the 3 minute film was essentially my homage to the Godfather movies, which at the time I was crazy about. During development, I spent a great deal of time studying the composition of existing movie posters – especially from the Godfather trilogy – in an attempt to nail that movie poster look.

| » Soviet Union Inspired Propaganda Posters |
|
I created these series of posters after becoming fascinated by how stylish some of the propaganda posters from the days of the Soviet Union actually were, especially the posters entitled "Have you enrolled as a volunteer?", "The Motherland Calls", and "We'll defend Moscow!". Though my own propaganda posters are a little more modern in terms of design (This is primarily because most of the old posters were paintings, and I'm a terrible painter), I felt I’ve still retained the feel of the images which inspired me.

| » Thematic Experimentation |
These are a collection of images that were each created as a means for me to experiment – usually for the first time – in conveying a particular theme or using a distinct style. Usually, I was inspired to create these images after watching a certain movie or playing a specific video game.
Going from left to right, the first image was meant to seem ancient; almost like a scroll. I was inspired to create this image not too long after playing the fantasy RPG Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion for the first time. The second is a return to the film noir style of the detective comic. I’ve always loved that style, and need little excuse to explore it further. The third is gothic themed, and was inspired by my first play through of the video game Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. The forth was meant to convey strong Sci-Fi imagery, with text lifted directly from the Roy Batty speech at the end of Blade Runner. And the fifth was my chance to create some pop art; more specifically a piece inspired by the works of Roy Lichtenstein.
